KEY QUESTIONS
This section of the Resource Guide provides a variety of information and tools to help schools, families and community partners lay the groundwork for a dynamic system of bullying education, prevention and intervention. The starting point is to focus on three critical and interrelated questions:
Q. How significant a problem is bullying in your school, district and/or community?
Q. To what extent is the problem acknowledged, understood and being addressed by teachers, parents and other adults in children’s lives?
Q. Is there collective commitment to rethinking current approaches to bullying prevention — and, if so, what specific strategies are most likely to produce good results?
Included in this section are templates developed during The Colorado Trust’s Bullying Prevention Initiative (BPI) for assessing the school/community social climate; evaluating needs, priorities and readiness to undertake change; and tracking the progress and impact of improvement efforts.
